What She Overcame

Cindy moved from her home in Florida back to Cape Cod to help care for her ailing father. After less than a year, her mom was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer and she passed away 9 months later. Her dad’s health declined after the death of her mom and he died 10 months after her mother’s passing.

Cindy had been pursuing her second Master’s degree in the midst of these family illnesses, and she had to put her own education and career advancement on hold to take care of her parents. After coming to a place of peace in her own grieving process, Cindy moved back to Florida to finally complete her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling. After her role as a caretaker and experiencing her own loss, Cindy felt a shift and a newfound passion to offer hope and to work with grievers of all types.

These experiences led her to take a position at the local not-for-profit hospice in Sarasota as a grief counselor. Cindy supported patients and families under hospice services, grievers, and people in the community who had experienced traumatic losses, such as loved ones who succumbed to overdoses and suicides.

Cindy utilizes her extensive education as well as her own life experience to counsel clients in vulnerable situations. Her goal is to build trust so clients can live their fullest, happiest lives, even after losses of all types.
